News and Journalism in the Age of Trump

Event Status
Public program presented in conjunction with the exhibition "500 Years of Treasures from Oxford"
These are challenging times for traditional news media. The business model has been upended by the growth of digital content producer and social media. Trust in the very idea of objective journalism has been undermined in an increasingly partisan political environment. "Fake news" has further blurred the lines between truth and fiction. In Washington, a confrontational administration has challenged the legitimacy of much of the media's reporting. How are news organizations adapting to and managing these challenges?

Join Wall Street Journal Editor in Chief Gerard Baker and Wall Street Journal Executive Washington Editor and Chief Commentator Jerry Seib for a review and discussion of these far-reaching developments and their implications for political and civil discourse in a democratic society.
